Bolton agree Shittu fee

Bolton agree Shittu fee

As happy as a pig in muck; Danny SHITTU is set to join the TROTTERS of Bolton Wanderers.

Gary Megson looks set to strengthen his leaky backline with the purchase of £2million-rated Shittu who will replace outward-bound Abdoulaye Meite.

Shittu was set to move to Rangers earlier this Summer but rejected the chance to join the Old Firm side as they wouldn't reach his wage demands. Whether the Reebok side will or not remains to be seen but with another years Premier League surivival behind them, one would expect them to.

Meanwhile, Adrian Boothroyd has confirmed his plans for Shittu's exit by announcing his intentions to sign a centre half on loan.

Best thing for him, the club and also the team, we now can concentrate on the Demerit / Bromby pairing and get some backup in. It also means that we won't have to suffer seeing Danny playing as a makeshift centre forward any more - set pieces yes, but playing him up front was awful! However, does the statement about a loan deal mean that Sol La bamba is not coming, or is it just to cover the period of the olympics? Heh ho, farewell Danny, short & sweaty it certainly was!
