Watford 'look League One' - Aidy

Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd has slated his players ahead of the new season, insisting they "looked more League One" in the wake of the Hornets faltered to a 2-1 friendly defeat against MK Dons.

Speaking to the official club site, Boothroyd lambasted "I`m disappointed with that tonight. We are better than that". He added "They [MK Dons] looked like a team in the Championship and we looked more League One".

Boothroyd`s main beef came with the lethargic nature of the Hornets performance against a lively (and pacy) MK Dons outfit and he raged "…there was a lack of energy and that`s inexcusable. It had the feeling of a testimonial game and that`s not how it should be at this time of year".

Barnet
(on Saturday) had better be different Aidy if the black clouds of negativity are to be lifted somewhat!
