Watford priced out of Andrews move
Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd has revealed that despite seeing £2m+ come into the club from the fire sale of Darius Henderson, he still can`t afford Keith Andrews!
The Hornets gaffer insists he`s a big fan of the transfer listed MK Dons midfielder and would love to see the former Wolves man at Vicarage Road but has ruled out making a bid.
Boothroyd told the Watford Observer "I don`t think I`ll have the sort of money they [MK Dons] are talking about to go and bid for the player. He` a player I really like, he was the best player in League 2 last year".
Andrews is rated at £2m by new MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo and, despite playing no part against either Reading or Sheffield Wednesday in pre-season, a move to Blackburn has stalled.
And Aidy then added that he saw Andrews as having a big part to play at Watford if only the finances allowed, stating "He would score a lot of goals for us but I`m not in a position to go and spend that kind of money".
