Hornets bid for Andrews

Hornets bid for Andrews

It's official! Watford actually do have some cash - SkySport News have confirmed that the Hornets have made 'an undisclosed' bid for Dons skipper Keith Andrews.

The former Wolves and Hull City central midfielder is in high demand and Watford are not alone in wanting him. Blackburn Rovers were also interested but are yet to make a bid.

New Dons manager, Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed Andrews is 'transfer listed' to help resolve his future before their League One campaign kicks off.

A bid of around £1million seems likely for a player who notched 16 goals, promotion and a player of the season accolade from FourFourTwo Magazine. Where this money has come from remains to be seen!

There is as yet no news from either camp regarding the bid.

Do we need another midfield who flopped at Wolves?

And Hull? Dunno...I think he is probably at the right level now, but we will see, a creative influence in midfield at the very least.

Blackburn reportedly keen on a £2m move for Andrews and Boothroyd has already admitted he might be priced out of a move for the MK Dons skipper!

I don't know what some of you people expect wfc to buy! are you hoping for internationals, house hold names, with sky high wages? Get real, he may have flopped at wolves, but then some players do flop at one club and turn out to be real quality. look at what wfc have done with previous players in the past, they sold on the cheap, that we thought were flops, i never rated Tim Sherwood for example!

I dont think their is anyone asking for internationals, just one person - watford1881 - asking boothroyd to be sensible with his buys...

Internationals or not, just because some fans think that a player is in a lower league, they possible feel that this club is to good for them! can you not recall the jubilation when Viallia was signed as manager, and ths gasps of horror when AB was appointed? Yes, AB has wasted money on players, but unless you have seen this guy play, don't comment, i have seen him play and think he is better than some already here! On a lighter note, Ashley Youngs younger brother is highly thought of at man city and are keeping a close eye on him.

So wfc123 do you think we should just waste the money we have? The players we buy don't need to be household names... Just Championship standed. You can only go on what players have done in the past... This guy has floped at the Championship side's in the past he has ever played for.. Why take big chances chances with our limited budget. If Aidy does think he is that good then we'll have to wait and see.....

Great that we do have some money again! But cannot believe he will choose us against joining his former boss in the Prem, or maybe that is just heresay. He obviously had a good season with MK and would add to the squad, although we do seem to have a surplus of central midfield players already with Eustace, Williams, O'Toole, Williamson, Bangura (on way out?) & Francis (no offers yet). I'm a fan of Aidy but surely we do need another striker?

Andrews is a good reliable midfielder but he plays in the same position as Eustace - John will be AB's skipper next season and word out of the club is that the coaching staff are excited about Williams returning from injury...anything more than £1m would be waste in my book!
