'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Russo's 'interested' in buying Watford

Having last week announced that both he and Lord Ashcroft were looking to sell their respective stakes in the club, the former board members, Jimmy and Vince Russo have stated their interest in the club.

The club has an official value of £7.7million according to the stock exchange though a figur of £20million is being touted around currently.

Having joined in 2005, the 'Salad Boys' were removed from the board last season and haven't spoken about it since. However, they confirmed on Friday they were in the running for the club:

'If the price was right.'

Jimmy Russo added: 'I will have to check the infrastructure and things first.'

The brothers were quoted as saying in last weeks Watford Observer that 'some player purchases had been poor' whilst there
was also a huge hint that Mr Boothroyd's job wouldn't be safe under their guidance. Their removal from the board, without explanation, was linked with the style of football which was condemned by the Russo's.

Well if this happens, could be farewell to Aidy then!

Watford are in need of new focus and drive from the top down. Maybe this will be a good thing. Maybe we need some fresh investment. Someone who has no links to the club already. I just hope it isn't a step backwards too far. Next season is going to be the hardest for years. (1881 Forever)
