Injured Williamson is going Bahama's!

Watford midfielder Lee Williamson has revealed his frustration at missing out on his international debut for Jamaica, thanks to an injury picked up on the Caribbean island.

Williamson, who qualifies to play for the reggae boyz through his parentage, was expected to get a taste of life on the national scene this summer as Jamaica warmed up for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying campaign.

However a thigh strain picked up at the national squad`s 1 week training camp has meant the former Northampton and Rotherham man has had to sit it out on the sidelines for the past 4 games - and his dreams of playing at the 2010 World Cup could be shortlived.

Williamson is far from happy at not having been fit enough to make any of the 22-man squad for friendly clashes with St Vincent & Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada.

He told the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper "I`m not happy at all that I can`t play. I am here to play football and play as many games as I can. Unfortunately, I picked up an injury. But I have put it behind me and am looking forward to the next game".

Williamson might well be upbeat but it`s highly unlikely he`ll force his way into the reckoning for the 2nd qualifier with the Bahamas tomorrow after the Reggae Boyz went goal crazy in the 1st leg at Kingston just 2 days ago.

Sorry to hear Lee couldn't play for his country. Last season he was playing ok for the Hornets. (1881)

If given a good run in the team he is a quality player. I expect him to be a key player for you this season.
