'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DeMerit enjoys a spot of Argy Bargy

Watford`s Captain America Jay Demerit made a welcome return to international action with the USA as a second half substitute in the 0-0 stalement with Argentina on Sunday.

The Hornets centre half, who failed to make the 16-man match day squad for the clash with England at Wembley, replaced Standard Liege centre half Oguchi Onyewu on the hour mark during the friendly played out at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey.

And Demerit would have relished the chance to face Messi, Mascherano, Maxi Rodriguez and co after being an unused substitute in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Spain (thanks to a late Xavi strike) earlier in the month.
