Watford head out for Austrian pre-season

Watford will head out to Austria this summer to freshen up for the new season but sadly Aidy Boothroyd and his extensive backroom team will arrive to late for any last minute window shopping at Euro 2008.

Whilst many of the Hornets Championship rivals have publicly declared they are keeping close tabs on a number of targets at the Euros, Watford will fly out for an intensive 9 day training camp in the Austrian hills from July 10th - some 11 days after the European Championship final in Vienna!

And for fans intending to fly out on the low cost airlines to watch Watford on tour with the warm glow of the Alps as a backdrop, well be warned. The official site has put its foot down and insisted that the Austrian tour will be a "training period only" and "no friendly fixtures are planned".

Consider yourself told.
