Watford pre-season is Don & dusted

Watford will face a trio of lower league opponents in preparation for the 2008-2009 promotion push after signing up to away day friendlies against the MK Dons, Barnet and Brentford…

So bang go the dizzy summer highs of Inter Milan, Sampdoria, Real Zaragoza, Le Havre and Chievo on the pre-season calendar then!!!

And quelle surprise, there`ll also be the usual bout of care in the community with our non league friends as the first team are lined up for a run out against Ryman League Premier outfit Borehamwood.

The neighbourly love doesn`t stop there mind you with outings for fringe and youth players planned at Winchester City, Wealdstone and Tring Athletic of the Moulton Spartans South Midlands Premier Division.

And with no home friendlies to whet the appetite over the summer the Hornets will end their pre-season with a revenge clash against usual sparring partners St Albans at Clarence Park - the Blue Square South outfit pulled off a 2-1 win over an experienced Hornets side last summer…

… and have bragged about it ever since!

Mk Dons will be a great game as too will Brentford. I'm lookin' forward to all the pre season matches. Shame there couldn't be a prem team like Spurs or Arsenal. I can't wait for next season. It's a chance to put last season to bed. (1881 Forever)
