'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lonely Horns Club

Without an assistant for several months now, Adrian Boothroyd has confirmed he will remain 'single' for the foreseeable future.

'Keith Burkinshaw was terrific for me,' said Boothroyd. 'But, as time went on, his role became less. I was the one making the decisions - good and bad.

'The bottom line is I'm the manager. I'll live and die on my own two feet.'

'My opinion is that I can get someone in to hold my hand and to cry on their shoulder.

'But I've thought a great deal about this and taken advice from the person I consider to be the best in the world.'

The Hornets supremo has always done it his own way, and methinks it makes sense for him to do it on his own, else he's only gonna sack his number two after a few months!

Indeed, technical director Dick Bate became the latest to fall foul of Boothroyd as he was removed on Tuesday. The former England U19 coach was lauded as a great coup for the club when he arrived, but his role has become less with Mackay and Hunter arriving.

Bate's departure is as yet, unconfirmed by the club.

I believe Adiy knows what he is doing. Aidy is the man to revive our stale team. The presure should be off us next year which is good. We must play a better brand of football. Just lumpin' it up front is not going to work. We need to pass and move. I'm lookin' forward to next season. The slate is wiped clean. We need to be more of a footballing side. Bring it on!!!!! It maybe a mistake to go it alone. Its good to have someone to bounce ideas off sometimes.
