'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ashbee is Hull's Captain unSensible!

Hull club captain Ian Ashbee showed anything but the professionalism and self control you`d expect of a skipper with 440 career appearances to his name in a heated altercation with Watford fans at the end of the Sunday`s play-off semi final.

Eye witnesses have reported that the Tigers journeyman got tangled up in a verbal confrontation with Hornets fans outside the Vicarage Road stadium and then allegedly taunted the Watford following with a series of hand gestures from safety through the back window of the Tigers coach.

Ashbee, who`s alleged stamp (clearly evident in SKY TV replays) on a grounded John Eustace fuelled the fans fury, was incredibly fortunate not to see red from match official Kevin Friend but was reported to have mocked the Leicestershire ref`s decision to take no action during a clash with fans as he left the ground.

So much for players being able to rise above abuse from opposition supporters!

This is shocking news. Watford fans, heated? It really does beggar belief.

terrible!

Shocking - and anyone who knows the first thing about Ashbee knows this is total and utter b^($s. This is not in Ash's nature at all. Sorry Dr Watford. Don't believe a word of it.

Were you at the game yesterday or not lads? I was. And I'll tell you something, your little diddums Ashbee is a rotten to the core git, just like his manager. No talent, but no wonder with his ethos Brown has kept him on. Every decision against Hull, flailing arms in front of the ref, being akward and throwing the ball away, pushing, shoving, raised hands, straight in there when Eustace was [wrongly] sent off too. Fists flying. Eustace is a hard, hard boy, but he doesn't mean to hurt anyone, he justs gets stuck in, like a proper centre mid should, the red was wrong, he went to win the ball which was in play and fell over his own teammate. Have you seen this mornings pics? Eustace's got his hands round the neck of Ashbee's shirt whilst the big girls blouse begs? Yes, well I think that sums up Ashbee's intent. Hard man one minute, flying in for a punch up, and when someone cottons onto his rotten games, 'i'm a tart, get off, please, sob...'

Whats that smell??? Sour grapes???

You should get a chip for your other shoulder too - it should balance you. One - you're obviously still smarting about yesterday wfc123 - hence the vitriol you've just spouted - and 2nd How did you manage to see not only the naughty gestures - but also that the gestures were done by Ashbee through darkened windows? Please... WFC123 - think about what you said - "Eustace's got his hands round the neck of Ashbee's shirt whilst the big girls blouse begs?" - THAT'S PART OF WHY HE WAS SENT OFF. He may have got away with a yellow for the tackle - but grabbing Ashbee like that was violent conduct. Hence the red. Try watching a few more matches of football - once you've grasped the basics you should understand it more.

The players were bording the coach, when i came out of the ground, i saw Ashbee talking to who i presume were his family, there was altercation with a fan, it was just words being exchanged, once ashbee had got behind the gate, he did turn and say come and see me on wednesday night and take me on then! Fans give players stick, why not let them give it back, he did, fair play to him, just a shame he had to do it behind the gate and not infront of it!

Yes, I understand exactly why Eustace was sent off, but why was Ashbee not sent off, why was Doyle not sent off for raising his hands and pushing Jay DeMerit. I'm afraid I didn't notice any hand gestures, BY ANYONE, and i know nothing about Ashbee and gestures through the back of a coach window. Finally, there is a large amount of sour grapes in this, we had the share of the play, the best chances, [fair play, Bo Myhill was in exceptional form] and a goal wrongly dissallowed. The referee may not actually been biased at all, but he might as well have been. Had Mr Friend and Bo Myhill not been on that pitch we'd have walked away with a nice 4/5-2 victory.

Thanks Andy710. There was a definate and obvious altercation - The fan was by no means blameless but I have managed to keep a number of recorded (yes recorded) quotes from Ashbee out of this article. I have had a number of emails into the VitalWatford mentioning the 'Wednesday night' comment but chose to ignore it as heat of the moment stuff...
DrWatford
Either way, Eustace is available now. Beware Ashbee.

This is the most biased blog in the Championship, its a surprise anyone takes your opinions seriously. First of all, show me the photo of him stamping on whoever Eustace - don't have one? Funny that, especially when theres hundreds of photos showing a cool headed Ashbee staring at a raging Eustace. Second of all as for Ashbee getting "tangled up in a verbal confrontation with Hornets fans", would that be both of them? Shocking support for you're most important game of the season, and I don't blame him I bet it was hilarious. And finally, as for wfc123 - trust me, its Eustace that should be scared ;) Up the Tigers, role on Wembley.
