Gladiators Ready!

Steve Kabba wants '18 gladiators to come out` and fight the Watford cause, pick up 9 points and avoid the big eliminator as the race to the promised Premiership land hots up…

The Hornets may have to 'run the gauntlet` against Palace and Scunthorpe at home then 'Hang Tough` away at Blackpool but the out of sorts striker told the official club site "There are three games to go and we are looking for that gladiator to come out. But hopefully we will have 16 gladiators, maybe 18!"

Watford gaffer Aidy Boothroyd has made no secret that promotion was achieved 2 seasons ago on the back of watching endless re-runs of the Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe thriller on away trips and the Hornets even run out to the film`s soundtrack at Vicarage Road.

But let`s be honest. Watford`s performances have been much less Hollywood blockbuster` and a lot more 'small screen` of late.

In fact, with midfielder John Eustace already having been dubbed 'Warrior`, Henderson playing his part as 'Peroxide` and Danny Shittu standing tall as 'Man Mountain` the Hornets almost have a gladiatorial line-up that the ITV show bosses would be proud of

Which would then make Nathan Ellington 'Shadow` (or should that read 'Shadow` of his former self").

Awooga!
