Ticket plans are a 'Bloom'in mess!

Ticket plans are a 'Bloom'in mess!

The last time Dr Watford made the long trip north to Blackpool to watch the Hornets Micky Mellon ran the midfield for the tangerines and Andy Preece showed the donkeys on the beach a thing or two…

Now it seems the chance to look on in awe from the away end at Bloomfield Park is the hottest ticket in town with Hornets fans up in arms about ticket allocation plans announced by the club yesterday.

A bank holiday weekend by the bitterly cold sea with a kiss me quick hat caught up in the breeze maybe not everyone`s idea of an away day to savour but with just 1,754 tickets on offer allocation was never gonna go down well either was it.

Yet in time honoured Watford ticket office fashion they have once again managed to miss the point and over complicate things…at the expense of supporters who stumped up £300+ quid at the start of the season to watch some proper dross at Vicarage Road.

The club`s 'last game of the season` ticket policy has more 'phases` than an overly tactical American Football coach in a teen sports movie and gives priority to supporters with away day history but who failed to purchase a season ticket for this season.

So it`s all good if you`ve been to the likes of Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Preston, Plymouth, Burnley and Stoke AND bought tickets through the club channels (rather than pay on the day) AND have a season ticket…

But if you`ve got a season ticket but not been on the road with Watford this season well you`ve got about as much chance of getting Bloomfield Road as a 'fan` who once happened to stumble across Vicarage Road whilst asking for directions to White Hart Lane!

The only good news is the club have stamped down on insisting on seeing ticket stubs so bang goes the black market ebay market that was well traded ahead of last season`s trip to the Emirates!

I'm glad you have seen the stupid way the club has taken supporters for mugs on this one. Why couldn't they have taken every away match on merit. For instance my dad has 4 counted stubs so his alright but I've been to five more matches then him overall & only have three counted ones. This was because I was too unwell to go to sheffield utd. Is this fair. Plus if we have to sit in our own numbered seat will I be anywhere near him if we don't get our tickets at the same time. Who knows?? Untill we understand that watford ticket office needs new people who don't just look at the numbers & see the greater picture. Loyal fans like me who have been through the bad times of Bassett, Rodar & vialli (with a small v)are treated like the glory Taylor/Boothroyd supporters. There must be change before we take control of our own club back to the supporters who matter most. !!!!!Very Very Upset 1881!!!!!!!

No one is taking anyone for a mug. There are always going to be deserving cases, like yourself, who don't get in the category they want. As it is you're still going to get a ticket and I'm sure you don't need to hold your dad's hand for 90 mins. But the vast majority of people are getting what they deserve - those who have travelled furthest the most are getting tickets.

Ive 3/4 of the games in the 'Phase One', but they've all been done on a mates Season Card, stupid yes, but I've kept all eight of my stubs this season, yet I still feel punished because of the select games. Going to Leicester was hardly fun as we got crushed four-one, does that warrant me loyal enough? Of course not. The club cock it up, again.

I'm also amazed that Cardiff away wasn't in the hitlist of 8 games as thats probably the worst of all fixtures...We have quite a strong fan base in the North West anyway so a batch of those fixtures will be quite easy...Still we didn'tsell out Villa Park in last year's semi nor for the play off final v Leeds (disgrace) so it wouldn't surprise me if tickets become available.

Or and Norwich on a tuesday night is also a right ol' bit*h of a game to get too but that gets considered far too easy for consideration as a qualifying game!

I have been to five of the eight games needed for phase one. Although i doubt these are recorded on the database, i will be in contact with the club to let them no my situation as i still have the stubs, surely the ticket office cant be ignore hard evidence? would be outrageous if i dont get allocated a ticket, having travelled over 4,000 miles following the horns this season......

I can understand their position on ticket stubs mind you given that last season's ticket fiasco with a black market for away stubs appearing on a well known auction site! Stubs were changing hands for up to £20 a pop at one point after the club announced plans for Arsenal away.
