'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fans back Watford for ugly promotion

An overwhelming majority of Glory Hornets fans have confirmed they`d rather see Watford play ugly and get promoted rather than play entertaining sexy football but remain in the Championship!

91% of votes in a recent VitalWatford poll threw their support behind Aidy Boothroyd`s 'direct and physical style` of football at Vicarage Road if it meant Premiership football next season with a mere 9% willing to sacrifice top flight footie if performances were easy on the eye.

And the VitalWatford poll results fly in the face of the opposition supporters - most notably of late Plymouth and Bristol City - who said they`d prefer to settle for life in the Championship rather than bruise, battle, bully and rattle a few cages.

Having the majority of fans eager for promotion at all costs will be music to Aidy Boothroyd`s ears.

The no nonsense Hornets gaffer recently insisted that he was more than entertained by performances in a couple of 0-0 draws and confirmed "You could play the most attractive football in the world, the way people want it to be played and finish mid table. But I`m a winner and so is everyone else at the club."

He went on to add "To me, it`s about winning games, rather than the style of play".

The Premier League should be setting themselves for a culture shock with the likes of Hull, Stoke and Watford all in the scrap for promotion.
