Hornets are not in 7th heaven!

Saturday`s away day draw at Plymouth meant Aidy Boothroyd`s Watford made it 7 league draws on the bounce - a feat which equals an all time club record at Vicarage Road!

In fact should the Hornets manage a point at the KC Stadium next weekend then they will write themselves into the football league`s record books by becoming only the 7th (there`s that bl**dy number again) team in living history of the English game to notch up 8 draws in a row.

Take a bow Southampton, Peterborough, Middlesbrough, Torquay, Birmingham and Chesterfield.

You`d have to go right back to those mediocre days of 1996-97 season with Dominic Ludden, Devon White, Stuart Slater, Waynes Andrews and Darren Bazeley to find a Watford side with as much of a 'draw specialist` tag round their ankles than Boothroyd`s latest crop…

That 7-draw run back in December 1996 - including a thrilling 2-2 draw with Blackpool, a no-score local derby draw with Luton and a bore '0-0`er against bogey side Gillingham - was rudely ended by a 2-0 home win against Rotherham.

But that side finished 13th in a table topped by Bury and including the likes of Stockport, Wrexham, York and Shrewsbury - not a squad gunning for promotion to the top flight of English football.
