Managers agree - Halmosi had to go!

Whilst both sets of fans will continue to bicker over the off-the-pitch antics at Home Park on Saturday, both club managers are in agreement…whilst Peter Halmosi was unfortunate, he had to go.

The talented Hungarian playmaker was shown a second yellow card in the 68th minute whilst he was laid out injured on a stretcher and now Aidy Boothroyd and Paul Sturrock have agreed that the tackle warranted a second yellow.

The Pilgrims boss confirmed he was disappointed with ref Phil Joslin for showing Halmosi his first yellow card for "handbags at dawn" but insisted the Hungarian`s 2nd booking - for a rash tackle on Matt Sadler - deserved the caution. He told the official Plymouth site "'The second was a definitely yellow card because it was a forward trying to make a defensive tackle, which he is not very good at.'

Aidy Boothroyd was also sympathic to the Plymouth playmakers cause but remained adamant that Joslin was given little choice but to dismiss the player. On the Hornets club site he stated "The most important thing is that Peter Halmosi recovers because it was a horrendous injury the way he went off there. Let`s hope he recovers, but the referee did the right thing…the laws of the game state that if it is a second bookable offence, he has to be sent off"
