Collins 'Ful' of confidence
After two uninspiring starts for Watford, Collins John might already be fighting for his future at Vicarage Road. Yet, despite 45th and 52nd minute withdrawals in his last two games, the Dutcham insists he and Darius Henderson can play up front together.
The Dutch international finally made his Hornets bow a fortnight ago in the draw with Norwich City, impressive he was that night, since then though John has lacked the sharpness, physicality and occasionally service in WD18.
'I was unlucky not to play a little bit longer, but, respect to the manager, he wanted to play with just one up,' said John, the striker on loan from Fulham. 'Hopefully me and Darius can play better together.
'I don't think we played well in the first-half together, we have to play a little bit closer together. He is a target man and can flick balls on to me.
'I used to do that with Brian McBride. Henderson is such a good man to play with, I really like him and hopefully we can get some goals together.'
The new-boy has conceded however that the Hornet`s route one 'style` of football counts against him in his quest to fire the goals to win promotion:
I have never really played in a team who play like this before so, of course, it's different,' he said. 'As a footballer you have to go with it and fit in. It's about the team, not me
'I'll have to work hard to get used to it and try my best to fit in and do well. I'll have to change the way I play,'
The signs have been there in fits and starts, now it`s time to knuckle down and earn that second strikers spot, afterall, Steve Kabba now has demi-God status…
