Boothroyd loves a bit of 'ding dong'
Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd hasn`t enjoyed a game as much as last night`s clash at Ashton Gate for a good 3 months…despite the fact that the scoreline ended 0-0!
The Hornets may well have played out a nervous draw at Bristol City with both the promotion rivals cancelling each other out but Boothroyd reckons he`s not been that entertained since the 2-0 win over Palace in the FA Cup - some 13 games ago.
He`s clearly not one for high scoring thrillers packed with goal-mouth action and tense drama then!
Speaking after the stalemate, Boothroyd told the official club site "These are the games you enjoy. I can`t remember a game like this since the Palace one. We`ve had a nice ding dong tonight and it was good entertainment."
Even Robins gaffer Gary Johnson admitted missing the game`s most thrilling moment - a reckless tackle by Darius Henderson on City midfielder Lee Johnson - because of Aidy`s love of 'ding dong`!
The City chief said "I was still fighting in the technical area! They [Watford] were trying to infiltrate our penalty box and technical area and that was annoying me. They use all all kinds of tactics and you just have to deal with it…on and off the pitch".
And Boothroyd didn`t disagree for once stating "It was blood and thunder with 2 very committed teams wanting to win a Championship".
Ding Dong indeed!

so many mistakes though and not enough opertunitys taken thats why where battleing it out, i would prefer a nice big gap or summit that could garantee a chance of automatic promotion, but theres been to many draws and this is one we couldnt afford. bad luck hendo :(
