'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Post Norwich: Tommy Smith

Although Tommy Smith had a quiet game last night by his own high standards, you can't pin all the blame at his door. The former Derby man lacked service and the team lacked composure in front of goal.

The Hornets flying winger was frustrated by the sides failure to snatch all three points...

'We had the chances to kill off the game but didn't take them,' he said. 'The last two games we have conceded two cracking goals but we need to start keeping clean sheets. The top spot seems cursed with no-one wanting to hold onto it. We need to capitalise on that in the next few games.'

The next couple of games will be important games two, as high-flying Bristol City play host to the Hornets whilst Stoke visit the Vic' soon too...

'The next two games are huge and will probably decide how the league ends up.

'Bristol City is our biggest game of the season and it's one we will be looking to get three points from.'

Watford's hopes for promotion lie in the laps of the likes of Tommy Smith and Jobi McAnuff, the widemen have been features of the Hornets success this season now would be a welcome time for Tom to return to form...
