'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Post Norwich: Manager's thoughts

Following last night`s disappointing draw between Watford and Norwich City, Watford gaffer Aidy Boothroyd was equally frustrated with his sides failure to capitalise on authority…

'With the dominance we had in the first half, we should have been two or three nil up by half time.

I prefer to take charge of our own destiny but on another day, we would have had three penalties, I do believe that. But we should be scoring in open play.

I thought we took our foot off the pedal in the second half and we allowed them into it. They are nowhere near us as a team'

Aidy`s opposite number, Glenn Roeder on the other hand was rightly pleased with his sides late equaliser.

'It was an excellent point and deserved.

The opening 15 minutes put us under pressure. With long throws from just over the halfway line coming into your penalty box the boys had to stand up and be counted and I think overall they did that.

I was disappointed with their goal, a header inside the six-yard box but generally speaking I thought the boys defended very well and once the game stretched early in the second half it was us who had the game really.'
