'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Size does matter for Watford's Aidy

Despite seeing his Watford troops pick up a 'huge victory' at Ipswich and earn all 3 points in 'a big, big win' against Leicester, Glory Hornet boss Aidy Boothroyd reckons it`s all about 'inches and yards` if they are to get promoted this season.

Speaking after seeing his side put in a 'massive effort' to come back from 2-0 down against Charlton at The Valley, Boothroyd said 'I just reminded the players that it`s the inches that count if they want to win the Championship. Stoke did that last night [versus Scunthorpe] and I just reminded the players of that.'

And in his weekly email to fans, the Hornets gaffer went just that little bit further with his 'size-ist` comments, adding '…it`s about looking your team mates in the eye and trusting one another enough to know that they`ll run the extra yard, stretch that little more in the tackle and leap that little bit higher…'

'If they didn`t already know it, that 45 minutes proved that we can get those extra inches'

The Hornets already play to their strengths with the likes of Darius Henderson as target man for the long, long throws of Leigh Bromby but VitalWatford don`t really wanna think about the size of man mountain Danny Shittu`s tackle….
