Hendo & Smith spurred on by boo boys

Hendo & Smith spurred on by boo boys

The chants of 'Boring Boring Watford` may well have echoed around Portman Road as early as the 25th minute on Saturday but Watford duo Darius Henderson and Tommy 'Smudger` Smith have been even quicker out of the blocks to state their pleasure in getting one over the Ipswich boo-boys

The 'boring, boring` Hornets became only the first side to beat the Tractor Boys in a league game on their own patch since Southend back in March 2007 but that didn`t stop the Portman Road faithful having a pop at the unorthadox style of Aidy Boothroyd`s troops.

Yet after battering the Blues defence for 90 minutes, Darius Henderson couldn`t hide his happiness with silencing the home crowd. He told the hacks down at the Evening Star "…we can take stick from opposing fans as long as we take the 3 points. In fact it makes it a lot more enjoyable when it happens"

And Smudger Smith - who netted Watford`s first in the 2-1 away win with a close range header - threw in his tuppence worth in support of Hendo, insisting that the Portman Road catcalls were simply "water off a duck`s back [when you are winning]".

Quack, Quack.
